The VOLU series filling unit is made up of an annular tank for the filling machines with 44 valves and more and a full tank for filling machines with 8 to 40 valves (annular – upon request – for filling machines with 12 to 40 valves).
In addition, the automatic feeding devices for the product have been installed (upon request – with analog signals as well) and the various adjusters required for optimizing the product flow. The filling valves are fitted at the bottom of the tank, including the mechanism for positioning and centering the containers.
The volumetric system guarantees the exact amount of product in the bottle irrespective of the diversity of each individual container, since the product is previously measured in the dosing chamber.
The dosing accuracy assures minimum product waste due to the roughly +/- 1 ml tolerance per 1 liter containers. Unlike classical filling systems, the volumetric system does not require a venting tube for the air in the tank, thus avoiding possible product contamination.
The machine was specifically designed and built for easy operation and cleaning, rapid replacement of accessories, and simple maintenance. All parts in contact with the product being bottled are made of AISI 304 stainless steel (AISI 316 upon request) and enable washing with hot water and chemical products or steam sterilization.
The Rotating Table, which is completely coated in AISI 304 stainless steel and is mounted on two centering bearings and ball thrust bearings or on a thrust block and centering bearing for small-to-medium size machines and on a thrust block and support for large machines, forms the support for the bottle-raising cylinders and the ring (air chamber) used for supplying compressed air to the cylinders.
The bottles are placed on the centering plates via the screws, stars, conveyors, and conveyor belt.
The tank is connected to the lower carousel via the lifting device (it comes standard and is electrically activated for machines with 20 valves and more and optional for filling machines with 8 to 16 valves), which allows height adjustment depending on the size of the bottles to be filled.
